Bon-Odori - a dance for the ancestors

Well, as I already mentioned before, I'm really pretty busy here in Japan. But now I want to tell you,  or better show you photos, about the Bon-Odori we helt at my working place on Aug. 3rd and 4th! 

It was really a nice experience! First I thought, that I have to work the whole time, but all I had to do was to look pretty in my Yukata *haha*. Well and I danced together with my colleagues from the dayservice. It went pretty well, thought I only time to practice 1 (!) day before the event in the lunchbreak *haha*. 

Everyone complemented me, because the thought I looked so pretty in my Yukata. Oh my I'm not used to so many compliments xD But I think they just wanted to be nice and well here in Japan I am the exotic one who looks different. 

We as well had a small 'hanabi' (firework) at the end. It wasn't that spectacular as the really big ones, but it was still nice. 

After the event we as well helt a small 'nomikai' (drinking together after work). It was fun to talk to everyone, because usually I can't talk with everyone during working time, because we are all busy. 

Well sometimes we have some smalltalk too during working time. ^^

 I am thinking about writing about my work here too. Maybe I will make a small post about it after my internship ended. Hope anyone is interessted?

Next time I want to report about my stay in Nikkô. I can really recommand it! Its worth a visit!

It's Japan, man!

I didn't post since a long time I know. There is no need for me to explain here but many things happened in my life during the past few months. Some were good but many were not so good. Things are changeing.

But for the good part:

I AM IN JAPAN right now!!!

This is the fulfillment of a big dream of mine!

I applied for an internship in Japan at spring this year at my university and I got the chance to complete it in an home for the elderly people in Inagi-shi near Tokyo. 

Since my research activities this semester were about the care of the elderly in Japan and the aging problem, this internship is a really good opportunity. 

I will spend a bit over one month in Japan. I already expierienced so many new things! Its really awesome. First I thought I want to blog about my stay in Japan everyday, but I'm so busy here, that its just not possible. When I'm not working then I'm doing some sightseeing with my hostfamily. But maybe I can catch up a bit and show some photos on my blog.

I already visited the Tsukiji-fish-market and ate delicious sushi there, the Kabukiza in Ginza, the Senso-ji in Asakusa, a sumô-ya, the "obaasan no harajuku" in Sugamo and a bon-odori festival.

Well most of the time I'm working and I don't have so much free time to do as many things as I want to but its an awesome experience!

We as well had an Bon-Odori festival at my working place! I'll upload some pictures later :)
